Certification

Show customers and regulators that you’re serious about clear communication with the Plain Numbers Mark.

Certifying good communication

Any type of communication using numbers that reaches a high standard can receive the Plain Numbers Mark. It’s a formal seal of approval, showing that you don’t just do numbers – you do them right.

However, not all your communications need to go through the certification process. You may want to gain the mark for communications that go to the most customers or those that are the highest risk.

On any other communications your dedicated Partnership Manager can help with a quick sense check or hands on help.

Certification is exclusive to Plain Numbers Partners.

You can spot a communication that has received the mark because it will have this logo on it.

You might see it on letters you get in the post, emails in your inbox, apps you use to manage your finances or on websites where you choose products.

The problem we’re facing

  • 1 in 5 adults in the UK

feel anxious about numbers and avoid situations involving numeracy, such as financial planning.

  • 49% of the UK population

at working age, have numeracy skills equivalent to primary school levels.

  • Customers don't understand

and many organisations are unaware of how low the levels of customer understanding are.

We helped Thames water to enhance their customer communication – making it easier to detect leaks.

Our customers rely on us to provide them with information in a way that allows them to make informed decisions. By working with Plain Numbers we’re able to take a step back and look at what we’re sending.
