Anglian Water become a Plain Numbers Partner.

Anglian Water has become a Plain Numbers Partners, marking a significant milestone as one of the first utility companies to do so. The partnership underscores Anglian Water’s dedication to enhancing their customer communications through the implementation of the Plain Numbers Approach.

Key communication professionals at Anglian Water have attended our comprehensive training course, to learn how to use the Plain Numbers Approach. This Approach is evidenced based and has demonstrated it can double the number of customers on average who understand a communication. On completion of the training, Anglian Water colleagues have become accredited Plain Numbers Practitioners and will benefit from unlimited support from their dedicated Plain Numbers Partnership Management team throughout the multi-year partnership.

Anglian Water are dedicated to prioritising customer needs, evident in their establishment of a robust customer champions network representing a range of diverse requirements. The company has already achieved the BSI ISO 22458 kitemark, a testament to their commitment to creating fair, flexible and inclusive services.

Currently, numeracy levels in the UK are low with almost half of the population having the maths skills of a primary school child. This presents a significant barrier to understanding household bills. By becoming a Plain Numbers Partner, Anglian Water has committed to putting their customers’ needs at the forefront of their work, ensuring communications are more accessible for those struggling with numbers.

In embracing the Plain Numbers Partnership, Anglian Water sets a commendable standard in prioritising customer understanding, paving the way for enhanced communication and inclusivity in the utility sector.
